A. Bryan Welch

September 29, 1939 — February 4, 2016

Bryan passed away the 4th of Feb. 2016 at Logan Regional Hospital. He was born at Idaho, Falls, Idaho on the 29th of Sept. 1939, the 4th child of John William Welch and Wanda Vernetta Young.
He was raised on his parents ranch at Townsend, Montana where he learned grand work ethics and responsibility. Much of his youth was spent on the mowing machine and hay rake and tending the irrigation water in the fields as well as tendering livestock.
His marriage to Lois E. Colby produced their firstborn son, Blaine, and daughter, Jeanine. They made their home at Townsend. They were later divorced. In 1981, Bryan met and married Kaye Freelove and delighted to take responsibility for a now much larger family. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS temple. Bryan was a skilled craftsman and carpenter, a certified welder, auto parts man. A dead marksman with his 270 Winchester. He was a master mechanic, and could fix or build to his every notion. His second love was working in the timber profession.
In 1989 Bryan and Kaye made their exodus to Cache Valley. His watchcry was service, no matter who, where, or how. His quiet mannerism was easily detected and admired. But he felt little comfort of being in a spotlight. His service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints included serving as high councilman, high priest group leader, stake missionary and many others.
He and Kaye spent 1 1/2 years in Bacolod, Philippines on a full time mission. He served there as a counselor on the mission presidency. His life was centered on his God, his wife, and their family. His voice was gentle but persuasive. You knew who he stood for.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Carman Murphy and Margo Dundas. He is survived by his eternal love, Kaye, his son, Blaine and daughter, Jeanine and his step-children, Mike, Clayton, Brian, Steve, David, Darrel Stock and Julie Lagasse, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gary Welch and Gordon Welch of Townsend, Montana, Chad Welch of Hyrum, Utah, and a sister, Marsha Marks, of Meridian, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the Paradise 2nd Ward Chapel, 9060 South 200 West in Paradise. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, and prior to the services on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. Graveside services will be in the Paradise Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
