Abram Bud Chlarson

WELLSVILLE - Abram Bud Chlarson passed away at his home in Wellsville on Tuesday morning, June 14,2016. He was 83 years old. He was born September 17,1932, in Brigham City, Utah - the fourth child of Abram Hans Chlarson and Lucille Reynolds Chlarson.
Bud always had a love for horses. He broke and trained horses his entire life. He enjoyed camping , hunting and rodeos. He was a member of the Box Elder Jr. Posse until he entered the army.
He served two years in the military, 18 months as a combat veteran in Korea. (1952-1955) Afterwards he began his career with the US Department of Agriculture and retired after 30 years of service.
On November 17, 1955, he married Elizabeth Lemon of Paradise, Utah in the Logan Utah Temple. They built their home in Wellsville Utah where they raised their four children. He loved them dearly. He served in various church callings, including Elders Quorum presidencies, Home Teacher and Ward Librarian for many years, and was a member of the High Priest Quorum. In 2002,
Bud and Liz served an LDS Church mission, which encompassed church farm assignments in Jackson, Montana on the Hairpin Ranch and Elberta, Utah - and then in 2003 at the Mormon Handcart Historic Site at Martin's Cove in Wyoming. He was an active member of American Legion, Post 47, in Hyrum, Utah for many years.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, and their children; Chris (Cathy) Chlarson of Murrayville, Illinois; Kayelene (Douglas) Parrish of Frisco, Texas; Gayelene (Daryl) Gudmundson of Taylorsville, Utah; and Keith (Kathryn) Chlarson of Wales, Utah; 20 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; his brother Lee and two sisters, Jean and Donna. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Doreen, Della, Deanna, Glen, and Dale.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, beginning at 12 p.m.at the Wellsville 7th Ward Chapel (660 South 100 West, Wellsville, Utah). Friends wishing to express respects may call on the family at the church on Friday evenign from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. just prior to the services.
