Cameron Fortis Kent

July 22, 1996 — October 17, 2014

Cameron Fortis Kent
Providence, Utah – Our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend passed away on October 17th, 2014. He was born July 22nd, 1996 and grew up in Providence Utah.
A young man of many talents and pursuits, he was found most often in the service of others. As a student, Cameron associated with the many incredible youth and adults in the homeschooling community. He participated in mock trials, Peer Court and many service projects. After graduating, he began work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Terrace Grove Assisted Living, where he made close friends among the residents and employees. He loved the elderly, and they have many special memories of him. Earlier this year, Cameron and his siblings were recognized by the Cache Chamber of Commerce for volunteering 13,000 hours at Terrace Grove over the last decade.
Cameron was a member of Scout Troop 1. He formed strong bonds of love with his leaders and his fellow scouts. He travelled to the U.K and France with the troop. In July, he completed his Eagle Scout project with the Logan Lions Club, collecting donated eyeglasses and then traveling to Senegal to distribute them to those in need. He loved his time in Senegal and wrote often about the people that his group helped, especially the children.
Cameron was happiest when spending time with his family. He loved traveling, cruising and going hunting with his big brother Scott. He was a gentle giant and he loved all his nieces, tossing them in the air and taking them for walks. Every year he counted down the days until football season, when he would watch Broncos games with his father and brothers. He especially loved Sunday dinners with all the family gathered around to play Nertz or discuss politics. No family gathering was complete without his spirited political discussions. He was always in the thick of it! As his friends often said, he had strong opinions. Oh, how our hearts ache for you!
Cameron is survived by his parents Randall and Georgina Kent, his siblings, Lisa (Jon), Donna (Pete), Glen, Missy (Andy), Scotty (Jess), Leah (Jason), Anna, Laura and Michael, nephew Jesse, nieces Crystal, Danielle, Melanie, Anais, Mireia, Noemi and Elle.
A private memorial is being held for Cameron on Friday, October 24th.
Services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed online at www.allenmortuaries.net
