Carma Glauser Watts

December 19, 1921 — October 16, 2017

Carma (Carmen) Glauser Watts peacefully passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 in Providence, Utah, of causes incident to age, her family at her side.
Carma was born October 19, 1921 in Logan, Cache, Utah to Martha Von Niederhausern and Frederick Glauser, immigrants from Switzerland.

Carma was the fifth of eight children and the youngest daughter. She learned at a young age to work hard and was never idle. She attended school in Logan and graduated from Logan High School in 1940 and attended the Salt Lake Business College.

She met a handsome Navy Ensign, Loy Watts, of Logan at a local dance. After many attempts to be granted leave from the Navy they were married June 30, 1944 in the Logan Temple. They were stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas, where their daughter Geraldine was born. The family returned to Logan after the war.

Carma kept a beautiful home, cooked wonderful meals and served her family and neighbors tirelessly.
She was a longtime member of DUP and Booklore. Carma was a true friend, giving rides to those who could not drive even into her 90’s.

Carma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in the Logan Temple and in various callings in the Logan Fifth Ward and East Cache Stake.

She was extremely close to her older sister Ruth, of Santa Ana, California. Since being widowed they have spent summers together in Logan and winters together in Southern California. It will be hard not seeing them together.

Carma was preceded in death by Loy, her dear husband of almost 60 years, her daughter Geraldine Dickerson, a granddaughter Andrea Saxton, her parents Fred and Martha and siblings; Ted, Bessie Alvord Davis, Leona Spackman, Wes, and Mel. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Liljenquist and her brother Ken Glauser of Brigham City.

She leaves behind her four children and their spouses David (Marilyn) Watts, Marcia (Bruce) Dickerson, Marilyn (Al) Dustin and Larry (Tanja) Watts, and son-in-law Brent Dickerson as well as 23 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.

Our thanks to those at Cache Valley Assisted Living who took wonderful care of our mother during the past two months.
