Carol Ann Yates Olsen

August 12, 1933 — September 18, 2016

Carol Ann Yates Olsen, 83, returned to the loving arms of her Savior on September 18, 2016. She was surrounded by her loved ones, in the little home she loved, as she slipped peacefully into eternity.
She was born August 12, 1933, in Harper Ward, Utah. The firstborn child of Willard Moss Yates and Elizabeth Ann Liptrot Yates. She was followed by nine siblings who became her lifelong best friends. She spent the remainder of her childhood in Harper Ward, where she graduated from Box Elder High in 1950.
She married her sweetheart, Neil Olsen, on August 13, 1955. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple, which to this day remains one of the happiest days of her life. The couple raised their four children in their beloved Cache Valley. They spent many years owning and operating Olsen Family Dairy Farm, where Carol was the herd manager from 1963 – 1974.
They enjoyed the years working side by side until her sweetheart's health began to decline. She then demonstrated her remarkable ability to serve in love as she cared for Grandpa throughout his final years.
Throughout this time, she kept busy working for Moore's Business Forms. During this time, she touched and influenced many lives. She also found great joy serving in the Logan LDS temple, and adored the years she spent as a temple worker.
One of her greatest attributes was her ability to find joy and gratitude in whatever life offered. She loved the sunshine, little children, animals of all kind, nature, her relationships with family and friends, and above all, living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband, Neil, her parents, and two sisters. She is survived by her children Tereasa (Dean) Stokes, Brigham City; Tammy (Steve) Wood, Layton; Kent (Jill) Olsen, Mesa, AZ; Greg (Annette) Olsen, Gilbert, AZ. She also leaves legacy for 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Hyde Park Church, located at 65 East Center Street, Hyde Park. A viewing will precede the services from 9:30 to 10:30 am. A viewing will also be held on Friday, September 23rd, at Allen–Hall Mortuary, located at 34 East Center Street, Logan from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
Our mom and Grandma was affectionately known as “Granny O”. Not just to her family, but to any and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She was everybody's “Granny O.” Granny lived her life in such a way that it didn't matter who you were, what you looked like, what your circumstances were in life, she loved you. We reciprocated that same love to her. She was our angel on earth and now she is our angel in heaven. We love you Granny O.
