Cindy Jensen Smith

November 5, 1979 — June 21, 2016

Cindy Jensen Smith, 36, passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident, June 21, 2016. She was born to Calvin Bryant Jensen and Kathy Strong Jensen on Nov 5, 1979, in Logan, Utah.
Cindy graduated from Sky View High School in 1998. She then attended Utah State University. During winter break of 1999 she returned to her home ward to attend sacrament meeting with her family. She was impressed to share her testimony in that meeting and it was then that she caught the heart and eye of her future husband, Jed.
The two coincidentally met at an institute dance a few weeks later and danced together the entire night. Two weeks after that magical evening the two were engaged.
Jedidiah Jackson Smith and Cindy Jensen were married for time and eternity in the Logan Utah Temple on June 30, 2000. Alexa Lynn joined the family in Dec of 2001, followed by Hannah Skye in Sept of 2003, and finally Jackson Matthew in March of 2009.
Cindy was blessed with countless talents and abilities, all of which she employed tirelessly, faithfully fulfilling the measure of her creation as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. There was nothing in this world that she cared for more than family. All of her actions and all of her efforts were guided by the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the principle of eternal families.
Cindy was the fourth of five children, Janae (Jarred) Glover, Michelle (Kipp) Adams, Scott (Amy) Jensen, and Kristy (James) Bell. In-laws include Craig Smith, Kathleen Purdy, Matt Smith, Brett (Nicole) Smith, and Hailey (Chris) Ward.
Cindy let her light shine, and in doing so brightened the lives of everyone around her. She was chaste and virtuous, kind, forgiving, patient, charitable, and beautiful in every way. She inspired all of us to do better, to be better. Her courage to stand up for what was right, not so often in words, but in action, will be a significant part of the enduring legacy she leaves behind.
The outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming. It serves as confirmation of a life well lived by a chosen daughter of our Heavenly Father. Flowers are beautiful and very appreciated; however, the family suggests honoring Cindy’s legacy by extending an act of kindness or service to someone in need.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016, in the Syracuse 9th Ward Chapel, 1525 W. 1175 South, in Syracuse. A viewing will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 E. 1800 North in North Logan, and prior to the services Saturday at the church in Syracuse from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.allenmortuaries.net .
