Colleen Parker Hardman

July 5, 1933 — April 7, 2015

LOGAN, UTAH: Colleen Parker Hardman passed away on April 7th 2015 in Clearfield, Utah. She was born on July 5th 1933 to Burton Thornton and Sara Bird and later adopted by Farrell Parker.

Colleen grew up in Wellsville, Utah, with her 4 siblings, Cleo, Delpha, Irma, and Butch (Farrell). She met and fell in love with her High School sweetheart, Fred Bernard Hardman, from Mendon. From that union they have 4 children: Steven (Marilyn) Hardman, Brenda Picard (deceased), Tony (JoAnn) Hardman and Sharon (Philip) Capizzi.

She worked for J.C. Penney and Clearfield Cheese. Along with working and raising a family, Colleen was involved with the Mendon PTA, South Cache PTA, Mental Health Board and served in various positions in the Mendon Ward.

While in her forties, she went to Beauty College and became a licensed beautician,
later returning as an instructor. Fred built Colleen a beauty shop in the family home where she entertained many customers while cutting and styling their hair. During those busy years, Colleen also found time to take flying lessons. As a point of interest, not one of her children ever went flying with her.

Fred and Colleen eventually sold the dairy farm and moved to Logan where they spent their summers enjoying the cool day. They also lived in Yuma Az. in the winters where they soaked up the warmth of the sun. While in Logan, she enjoyed getting together with her “Gang” every month for lunch. For several years she volunteered at the Logan Regional Hospital, where her vivacious personality was used to greet and meet patients.

Colleen’s favorite pastimes included bargain shopping, oil painting, bargain shopping, crocheting, bargain shopping, traveling to the bargain shop, attending yearly hospital conventions and while there, bargain shopping. If there were any bargains to be found anywhere, Colleen would find them.

She delighted to see her children and grandchildren succeed in their various careers—all of them will continue to contribute to her legacy. She is the proud mother of 4 children, grandmother of 24 and great grandmother of 28. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, her daughter Brenda and her sisters Delpha Zobell and Cleo Barnes.

Her family would like to send a special thanks to her dear friend, Ron Daniels, who was a loving and tender companion. We thank Chancellor Gardens of Clearfield, Ut. for their excellent care in her final months.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:00 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center. There will be a viewing from 10:30 - 11:30 am. Interment will be in the Mendon Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.allenmortuaries.net
