Darwin M Brough

Darwin M Brough, 83, passed away Sunday May 14th, 2017 surrounded by his family.
He was born September 14th, 1933 in Tremonton, Utah to Clarence (Curly) & Vadis Brough. He married Ruth Grover on June 8th, 1951 in Tremonton, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

He attended Bear River High School where he met the love of his life. He played football during his high school years. After high school he worked at Hill Air Force Base and Kennecott Copper Mine before going to work with his Dad in the excavation business, CR Brough & Sons. He took over the business and expanded it to Darwin M Brough Excavation and later started B&B Trucking with his son.

He served as the president and vice president of the JayCee’s. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church where he enjoyed many callings including dance director, home teacher, and serving in the Sunday school.

He enjoyed spending time with his family camping and boating on Twin Lakes. He loved his Goldwing motorcycle and rides with his friends. During the winter he could be found on his snowmobile. He and Ruth were avid square dancers. He knew how to make everyone laugh, he had a great sense of humor and many friends. His greatest accomplishment was his family who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, 3 daughters and 1 son. Susan (Royce) Larsen, Park Valley, UT, Cindy (Randy) Gibbs, Orem, UT, Patti (Eric) Smart, Sandy, UT, and Darin (Doreen) Brough, Garland, UT, his sister Charlene Earl, 16 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Ann Brough, his parents, brother Kent Brough, granddaughter Erika Ann Smart and great grandson Riggin B Hawkes.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Tremonton 4th Ward building, 300 East 660 North, Tremonton, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 AM and on Friday evening, also at the church, from 6:00-8:00 PM. Interment to follow the funeral at the Riverview Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
