Douglas Wells Church

July 5, 1939 — September 9, 2016

Taylorsville, UT-The world just lost a great man Friday Sept 9, 2016 at the age of 77. This is the end of great chapter! He was a great Dad, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all.
He would do anything for anyone. He will be missed dearly by everyone! Such a strong man however he finally lost a year and a half battle w/cancer, the recent stroke didn’t help, but he never gave up hope –fought so so hard until the end. He worked for Associated Foods for 35 years, then retired early in typical dad fashion to become an amazing caregiver and loving husband for our mom for 11+ years. They were married for 57 years. His favorite past times was going to Wendover, Bowling and Golfing all of which he was able to revisit and enjoy for a brief time during his recovery and fight. The Family would like to give special thanks to his sister Maxine for the extra special care & love she gave dad during this challenging time along with his sister Dorothy and brother Dewey. Thanks to this special lady Linda who came back into dad’s life and provided much needed companionship & love which added to dad’s joy of life to the end! Thank you to Utah Cancer Center and IMC Hospice for the special care they provided. Survived by: 4 children -Brett(Charlie)Church, Trudy(Dave)York, Brad Church, Brian(Marsha)Church, 12 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 2 sisters, 1 brother. Preceded in death by Wife Sylvia Ann Church, Daughter Terri Lee Boggs.
