Elaine N. Bullen

Elaine Nielsen Bullen, 80, passed away July 16th, 2015 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in Hyrum, Utah, to George Marvin Nielsen and Melba Lucetta Sparks Nielsen on October 18, 1934. Elaine was the third child in the family of three daughters and two sons. She grew up on a farm where she learned the value and the joy of hard work. Elaine attended elementary school in Hyrum, Utah, and graduated from South Cache High School in 1952. She was married to Del Lorenzo Bullen on July 10, 1953, in the Logan LDS temple and just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
She was an active member in the LDS church where she served in various positions including primary president, librarian for over 25 years, the Relief Society Presidency, visiting teacher, and other various callings.
She also found great joy serving with her husband in the Logan Temple for over 14 years. She enjoyed volunteering in the community by serving as PTA President.
Elaine loved to tole paint, make and dress porcelain dolls. She collected antique dolls and tea sets. She liked to crochet, knit, and was an exceptional seamstress. Elaine also decorated wedding cakes for many years.
She loved to tour with her sweetheart in their antique cars and made many great friends and memories with their car club. She found great satisfaction working in her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Her most prized possessions in life were her family and spending time with them.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Del, and six children. Shanna Gibbons (Mark) of Lewiston, Utah, Linda Laird (John) of Highland, Utah, Michael Bullen of Tremonton, Utah; Cindy Bonamarte of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Tina Bullen of Bountiful, Utah, and Hollie Bullen of Lake
Geneva, Wisconsin; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheri Lynn Bullen, brother, Alvoid Nielsen, and her parents, George and Melba Nielsen.
Elaine’s family extends our gratitude for the care and consideration provided by Logan Regional Hospital and University of Utah Medical Center and Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, in the Richmond Utah 2nd Ward, 150 South 100 East, Richmond, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 21, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, Utah, and from 10:30-11:30 prior to funeral services in Richmond.
