Elwood Allison Young Jr.

Elwood A. “Woody” Young, Jr., of Nibley, passed away on January 27, 2018, at age 68. Woody was born to Ed and Billie Young in Pasadena, CA, on March 22, 1949. He and his wife, Becky, traveled the world with the US Army for 21 years after their marriage in 1967, eventually bringing two sons and two daughters along for the ride. Woody retired a Master Sergeant and was justifiably proud of his exceptional service.
Anyone privileged to know Woody will remember him always for his generosity of spirit, friendliness, and bottomless capacity for serving others. Wherever he went, he was eager to play peekaboo with every baby, make the acquaintance of every dog, and play games with family and friends until everyone was worn out from laughing.
Woody has gone to join his parents, and awaits in love his brother Doug and sister Vickie, wife Becky, son Daren, son David and his wife Dawn, daughter Rachel and her husband Bryan, daughter Jennifer and her husband Quinton, and nine grandchildren: Tori, Hannah, Haley, Bekah, Daren Jr., Emily, Josh, Sam, and Hardison.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Nibley 11th Ward Chapel, 130 West 2600 South. A viewing will be held prior to the services at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
