Evan Leon Olsen

Evan Leon Olsen passed away on November 7th in his home in Young Ward, Utah, with his wife and two sons by his side. He was born April 13, 1932 in College Ward, Utah, to David LeRoy & Marian Nelson Olsen. He married Ines Loosli in the Logan Temple on September 24, 1951. Evan was a dairy farmer who loved working with the land. He loved taking a piece of land and making it better. He was active in the LDS church and served in several leadership positions. He served nearly 8 years in the Logan LDS Temple. He also served 22 years in the Utah State Legislature in the House of Representatives, representing the south end of Logan and Cache Valley. He is survived by his wife, Ines, sons Kevin (Diana) and Randall (Adele) of Young Ward, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, brothers Rulon (Mike), Norman (Jim), and sister Anna Morrill, all of Young Ward. He was preceded in death by his son, Lance, his parents, brothers Ross & Keith, and Sister Verna Turner. The viewing will be Friday evening, November 11th between 6 PM and 8 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary on Center St. in Logan and between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 12th at the College-Young church house at 2400 West 2200 South, Young Ward. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM at the College-Young church house.
