Geraldean "Geri" Mitton Hill passed away peacefully at the Beehive Homes Assisted Living Center on Feb. 20, 2017, surrounded by her family.Geri was born to Carl G. and Ruby L. Mitton on June 14, 1934, in Logan, Utah. She married the love of her life, E. Dellas Hill, on Sept. 2, 1949. They later solemnized their marriage in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in Wellsville, where they raised seven children. As their family grew, she had a prompting to go back to school and pursue a career in the nursing field. She took pleasure in working as a nurse at Logan Regional Hospital for many years. Little did she know that she would need those skills to care for her husband and his many health challenges. He passed away March 2, 1996.Mom loved writing. Her family enjoyed her poems, letters and annual Christmas stories. She also wrote the lyrics to two Primary songs for the children in her ward. In addition to being a published author for the National SIDS Foundation, she also received two Golden Poet awards. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. After her husband passed away, she worked at the Logan LDS Temple for more than 10 years, which she truly loved. She spent her final years at the Beehive Assisted Living Center in Logan. Mom made many dear friends there, especially Ida Mae Parker. She and Ida had a very sweet relationship that, as her family, we will always cherish. We would also like to acknowledge the special friendship she had with Kayonia "Kaya" Eccles. She is survived by her children, Vickie Sharp (Allan), Orangeville; Scott Hill (Rhonda), Riverton; Shelley Duce, St. George; Tanya Simpson, Farmington; Luz Nilson, Hyrum; Dacei Hoggan (Brad), Logan; Kami Leatham, Nibley. Mitton; brother Paul Mitton; four great-grandbabies, Jade Ryan Sharp, Grizzley "Grizz" Adamson, Rebyl Erica Brenchley and Maximus Grizzley Wright. Our family would like to give a special thanks to Rick and Jully Mayo and the entire staff at Beehive Homes.
