Hazel Stroud

NORTH LOGAN — Hazel Clare Stroud passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home at the age of 91. She was a beloved wife, mother, “Nana” and “Great-Nana” to her family.
Hazel was born in Auck- land, New Zealand to Scott and Clara Agnew. She grew up in Hamilton New Zealand, the oldest of two children. Hazel immigrated to the United States with her husband Cyril in 1982 and settled in North Logan. She loved the theater and was heavily involved in theatrical productions in New Zealand as well as in Logan, most notably with the ‘A Day To Remember’ Constitutional Celebration and ‘The Martin Harris Pageant’ in Clarkston, Utah. Hazel also directed the inaugural ‘New Zea- land Temple Pageant’ for the LDS church. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with an unwavering testimony of the Savior.
Hazel was preceded in death by her son Peter and her husband “Stroudie” (Cyril). She is survived by her daughters Susan (Graeme) Duncan and Vicki (Douglas) Younker; seven grandchildren Vanessa (Sean) Peck, Jesse (Kyrell) Younker, Laird (Amy) Duncan, Brittany (Jeff) Chambers, Carson (Jamie) Younker, Hailey, (Matt) Moss and Matthew Younker; and 16 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank all those that helped her in her last years of life especially the wonderful Intermountain Healthcare Hospice staff.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Tues- day, October 21, 2014 at the 14th & 9th North Logan Ward LDS Chapel at 1650 E. 2600 North, North Logan with a viewing between 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Con- dolences may be extended to the family online by visit- ing www.allenmortuaries . net.
