Irvon 'Irv' Dale Murri

NORTH LOGAN – Surrounded by his loving family, Irvon “Irv” Murri, passed from this mortal existence on 27 August 2014, in Ogden, Utah. His Swiss English heritage rich in faith, hard work, thrift, honesty, and gentility governed his life of 85 years and allowed him to lead, provide, and nurture his family. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Service to his church, the community, and his family was the hallmark of his life. Sharing his passions for nature, hiking, gardening, photography, and adventure has greatly enriched the lives of those who knew him.
He was born in Wilford, Idaho, 11 July 1929, to Charles Christian and Eliza Ann Stimpson Murri. He lived a self sustaining family farm life with his parents and 6 siblings, before leaving farm life to pursue retail business. He married Shirley Norris in the Idaho Falls Temple 22 October 1948, and together they bore and raised 4 children: Wayne Murri (Betty), Sharon Jessen (Bruce), Diana Joy (Peter Pilafian), Steve Murri (Sharlene).
In 1968, his business career lead him from St.Anthony, Idaho, to Logan, Utah, where he managed Blocks clothing store. After Shirley’s death in 1983, he retired from business life and became North Logan City Recorder until his retirement in 1994. On 3 March 1990 he married Beverly Weber in the Logan Temple and helped raise and nurture her family: Rick Weber (Debi), Duane Weber (LuAnn), Jason Weber (Ember), Shiela Mitchell (Don), Mike Weber (Juli).
He enjoyed travel, photography, gardening and outdoor adventures along with active church service. He created many enduring memories for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed!
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 1, at North Logan 1st Ward, 1105 E 2100 N, North Logan, Utah. Visitations will be Sunday, August 31, 6-8 p.m. at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 E 1800 N and at the church on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Perpetual Education Fund or Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
