Iva Lavee Smith

Iva LaVee Smith, 98, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015, in Bountiful, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 4, 1917 in Redmond, Utah to Elmer and Marie Lauritzen. Sealed in the Logan Temple to Clain William Smith of Hyrum, Utah. Clain’s US Air Force career took them to diverse locations around the country from New Jersey to California and to interesting foreign assignments that included Puerto Rico, Japan, and Ethiopia.
LaVee served in numerous positions in the LDS church including both Stake and Ward Relief Society presidencies and the Northern Far East Mission. For over 30 years she served as a temple worker in the Oakland, Logan, and Salt Lake temples.
She is survived by sons, Richard (Terry) Smith of American Fork and Robert (Donna) Smith of Bountiful, Donald Lauritzen (brother) of Hyrum and Maureen Wilmore (sister) of Hyrum, 13 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. LaVee was preceded in death by her husband Clain.
Her devotion to all that is good and her loving example will live in our hearts forever. LaVee was adored by her family and a great friend to countless people who came to know and love her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Ensign Stake Center, 135 A Street, Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Internment will be at 1:30 PM in the Hyrum City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
