Jan Mateusz Dobrowolski

July 16, 1990 — February 23, 2018

Jan [Yan] Mateusz Dobrowolski passed unexpectedly from this mortal life on February 23, 2018 at his home in Logan, Utah. Jan was born on July 16, 1990 in Carbondale, IL as premature child, weighing only 1.5 lb., subsequently spent 53 days in neonatal ICU in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Illinois. He was the sweetest, and cutest baby and toddler ever.
Jan grew up in Illinois, Wyoming, Warsaw, Poland, Massachusetts, and Utah. Travelled in Europe, and fell in love in Paris, France. He loved history, particularly of XIX and XX century, philosophy, cooking, especially French, collecting military memorabilia, fishing and shooting guns with his best friends.
Jaś started his education in Poland, and his first language was Polish. He mastered English language in one short year, at the age of 10. Graduated from InTech Collegiate High School in Logan, UT, become college student, completed 60 credits as a history major at Utah State University. Worked part time as a student worker at USU, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Taught himself Linux Operating System and worked until his last day on earth in a company servicing cloud servers.
Preceded in death by his Grandfather, Władyslaw Frankowski. He is survived by his parents Margaret and Piotr Dobrowolski, sister Joanna Dobrowolska, Grandmother Teodozja Frankowska; Grandaunt Julia Kaim, aunt Anna Kaim, and cousin Kasia, all three living in Warsaw, Poland.
Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. A service will be held for Jan on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11 am at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St. Logan. As a wish of his father, there will be no private, nor public viewing.
Jasiu, we all loved you very, very much and were in pain seeing your suffering for most of your short life. We will miss your brilliant mind and excellent memory, which gave us many times food for thoughts, your sense of humor, and deep reflection about life. We will miss your Boeuf Bourguignon A La Julia Child Recipe - Genius Kitchen, and long discussions about the future of this world.
