Jane Van Epps

Jayne Dunn Van Epps returned to her eternal home on 10 February 2015 of causes incident to age. She will be so greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
She was born 4 March 1924 in Hyrum, Utah, the youngest daughter of Simeon Adams Dunn and Wanda Marie Facer Dunn. On 27 January 1945 she married Gordon Almon Van Epps during WWII, and waited for him as he served his country in the United States Navy. They were later sealed in the Logan Utah Temple on 1 July 1949 and just recently celebrated 70 years of married love.
She has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She started teaching Junior Sunday School at age 14. She also taught in Primary, Young Woman, Sunday School and Relief Society. In addition, she has served as a Young Woman President, Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society Secretary, Visiting Teacher, Temple Worker and missionary in Nauvoo Illinois and Adam-ondi-Ahman, Missouri.
Along with her husband and four daughters, Jayne has led a unique and fascinating life as they traveled and lived around the world performing great acts of service to others, enjoying the many wonders, cultures and friendships. They lived in Karaj Iran for 3 years, Bolivia South America for over 2 years and in Lesotho in Southern Africa for 2 years.
She is survived by 3 living daughters and their husbands, Leone Van Epps (Richard) Pearce, Diane Van Epps (Jim) Goodman, and Marie Van Epps (Jim) Nelson; son in law Bryce Peterson, 22 grandchildren, and 46 great Grandchildren. Preceding Jayne in death were her parents, Simeon Adams and Wanda Marie Facer Dunn, sisters Nadine Dunn Gray and Wanda Myrtle Dunn Small, her youngest daughter Debra Jayne Van Epps Peterson and her granddaughter Jennifer Marie Nelson.
A celebration of Jayne’s life was held in Mesa Arizona on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2015. On February 20 at 11am, after a short graveside ceremony, she will be buried in the Hyrum City Cemetery in Hyrum, Utah.
