Jeanne Rae Coburn Larsen

April 7, 1950 — March 15, 2015

Jeanne Rae Larsen

Jeanne Rae Larsen beloved wife, mother, friend, and Granny returned to Heavenly Father, March 15, 2015. Jeanne was born April 7, 1950, in Idaho Falls, Idaho the only daughter of four children born to Donald and Clarice Coburn. She grew up in Driggs, Idaho and graduated from Teton High School where she was involved in cheerleading, drill team, track and field, band, orchestra, and drama. Jeanne loved Teton Valley. Skiing, hiking, playing softball, and serving floats and malts at her Dad’s Corner Drug Store kept her very busy.

Jeanne fell in love with Steven Larsen, the boy down the street, and became eternal companions December 20, 1968, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with 3 daughters and 5 sons. Their children often reminisce, “We never knew a day without love, we never went to bed without a hug, if we ever felt hunger it was the our own fault, we always had clean clothes though not always store bought, and we always knew Mom would be waiting for us.”

31 Grandchildren refer to her as “Granny”. They love to visit Granny’s house where they get a hug, a personal conversation, a homemade meal, and sweets from a well stocked treat drawer. And when they leave, they always feel loved and important.

Jeanne loved her home and each room is an expression of her life. From meaningful wall hangings, to her handmade crafts, and many beautiful quilts, most of which became gifts to others. Her home is her palace and all who enter feel loved and welcome.

Her whole life revolved around her family. She was always running to be there to cheer them on in all their activities. Oh! Speaking of running, the “Ragnar” and “13.1” decal stickers on her car window are evidence of her love of running.

Jeanne never did anything half way. “If it was worth doing, it was worth overdoing”. This is how she served in her many church callings. She loved to plan lessons and activities with meaning and purpose. All who attended felt loved, lifted, inspired, and anxious for their next opportunity to learn from her.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her father Donald Coburn. She is survived by her mother Clarice Coburn from Driggs, Idaho, husband Steven Larsen, and her children and spouses: Steven (Joan) Larsen, Scott (Melissa) Larsen, Karen (Chris) Karren, Paul (Jenny) Larsen, Betsy (Michael) Baugh, Ben (Jamie) Larsen, Mathew (Leslie) Larsen, Rebecca Larsen Fonua, also by her brothers Kelley, Richard and Steven Coburn.
