Joyce M. Anderson

October 26, 1939 — November 15, 2015

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joyce Mauchley Anderson, 76, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on November 15, 2015.

She was born on October 26, 1939 in Logan, Utah to Theron and Bernice Seamons Mauchley. She was the oldest of five children. She married Frank (Tim) Anderson on September 25, 1959 in the Logan LDS Temple. They became the parents of one son and three daughters. They were later divorced.

Joyce was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the church and was always willing to serve when called. She served in many positions, most recently as Ward Librarian, and a Visiting Teacher.

She was employed at Utah State University Taggert Student Center for 20 years. Her many responsibilities included custodial work, setting up for banquets and events, and customer service. Joyce took great pride in her work and always did it with a smile on her face. While employed at USU, she earned many awards, including Employee of the Month, Faculty Service Award, and The Robins Award.

Joyce loved sports. She was a true and loyal Jazz fan, Denver Bronco fan, and USU Aggie fan. She was an avid walker and enjoyed walking around Wellsville with her walking buddies. She also loved bowling and participated in many tournaments all over the country. She loved her many wonderful bowling friends.

She enjoyed watching and cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their various sports and activities.

The family would especially like to extend a special thanks to Integrity Home Health and Hospice, and especially Miranda Bailey, a granddaughter, who provided hospice care during her final hours.

Joyce is survived by her four children, Dale Frank Anderson (Jan), Julie Anderson, both of Wellsville, Utah, Kristi Hidalgo (Craig) and Sharie Ravsten (John), both of Clarkston, Utah; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Mauchley (Barbara) of Denver, Colorado; and a sister DeAnn Balls (Alma) of Smithfield, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clair Mauchley; and her sister JoAnn Mauchley.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at the Wellsville Stake Center, 30 S. Center. A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. and prior to the funeral service from 10:30 – 11:30 p.m. at the Stake center.
