Lenna May Wilson Bowler Jacobson, 97, passed away in Idaho Falls, Idaho on Wednesday February 3, 2016 of causes incident to her age. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and humanitarian. She was born May 26, 1918 in Randelett, Utah to C. Ruben and Luella D. Wilson, the third of seven children.
Lenna married Isaac Royal Bowler in 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to his farm in Kelly Toponce, north of Bancroft, Idaho where they farmed, raised cattle and grew their family. Lenna was blessed to have Lena in the family, a daughter from his first marriage. They were blessed with five sons. Charles (Ruth- deceased) Bowler, Elvin (Jane) Bowler, Edwin (deceased in infancy), Royal (Luanne) Bowler and Curt (deceased) (Jodi) Bowler. Lenna is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren and also several great great grandchildren.
In December of 1948 Royal became ill and passed away leaving Lenna a widow at 30 years of age with another baby on the way. A daughter , Maureen (Douglas) Illum, was born in July of 1949. Lenna continued to run the farm with the help of family and neighbors. The family sold the farm in 1960 and moved to Logan, Utah to help her parents.
Lenna was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many callings. She had a strong testimony of the gospel that was evident in her life as she influenced those around her. She spent thousands of hours doing genealogy, extraction of family history records, quilted blankets, crocheted hats and afghans, and gardening. She loved the Humanitarian effort, taught others to give and will not be forgotten for her work.
Lenna married Carl Jensen Jacobson in 1975 and they lived in Logan in the 13th ward. Carl passed away in 1999. Lenna continued to stay in her home, until 2011, when she moved to Idaho Falls with Maureen. She remained sharp in her mind, gave sound advice to her family, and continued donating time and money to the Humanitarian Center. She lived a happy and fulfilled life of service and blessed all those around her.
There is truly a joyous beyond words reunion in heaven as she meets with her husband, parents, sons and so many others that have gone on before her.
