Marguerite Crockett

Marguerite Smith Crockett, 88, died at home in Yuba City CA after a short illness. Born on March 30, 1927, she passed away on February 6, 2016.
Marguerite was raised in Hyrum Utah, daughter of Jesse Estes Smith and Martha Ann Hansen Smith. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and South Cache High School, both in Hyrum. She graduated with a B.A. and a teaching credential from Utah State University in 1959 and taught in various Logan City Schools from 1960 until she retired in 1988.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings throughout the years and as a supervisor in baptistery at the Logan Temple after her retirement. She and her husband Ronald also served in Lebanon Missouri, part of the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Mission.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Devon Smith Heise. She is survived by her husband Ronald S Crockett; two daughters, Penelope (Dennis) Heitman of Yuba City California and Jeraldine (Ivan) Olsen; two brothers, Jesse Odell (Martha) Smith of Ogden, Utah and Don H (Phyllis) Smith of Phoenix, Arizona. She also leaves nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in the Hyrum 11th Ward Chapel, 600 South 200 East in Hyrum. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, and prior to the services on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net .
