Mckay E Roe

August 1, 2000 — April 18, 2015

On Tuesday, August 1, 2000, McKay was born by emergency C-section almost
seven weeks early. After 18 days in the NICU at Primary Children's
Medical Center mom and dad made the decision to take McKay off life
support to let him pass away peacefully. Accommodations were made to be
relocated to a separate room on the floor that would not have any medical
equipment. Surprisingly, the following morning McKay had made some
improvement and within a few days was sent home where he was expected to
pass away any day. However, with loving family and friends McKay
continued to improve and defy the odds.

Throughout his many visits to Primary Children's Hospital all of his
nurses would always compliment him on his big, beautiful, blue eyes. He
was loved by his teachers at school who came to know him very well and
worked tirelessly to care for him and help him develop and learn new
things. At the age of 12 McKay was introduced to an eye tracking
technology called Eagle Eyes. For the first time in his life it was now
McKay on the "playing field" in our family room while mom, dad, brothers
and sister cheered him on and sang along to catchy victory tunes like
"Banana Phone."

Ultimately, McKay loved to be with his family; hanging out at home,
attending family get togethers, watching USU football away games, hanging
out at grandma and grandpa Roe's house, Grandma Linnea's house, attending
family reunions, and the various soccer, football, and basketball games
of his 3 siblings. Over a short lifespan of 14 years McKay has quietly
gained a deep sense of love and admiration from all those who knew him or
even just knew about him. With his passing he has left many inspiring
memories of peace, courage, faith, and hope with all of us.
