Merdith Bodily Hall

August 11, 1918 — February 11, 2016

It was exactly 97 and a half years ago that a beautiful little daughter was born to Edwin Bodily Jr and Roxanna Satyra Spackman Bodily in Fairview, Idaho on August 11, 1918. Merdith Bodily Hall passed away peacefully in Lewiston, Utah on Feb 11, 2016. She was welcomed by 3 sisters: Zelda Hinckley, Theoda Hyde, and Pauline Mathews. Merdith’s father passed away when she was only one and half years old. Her mother remarried A Willard Larsen and a little brother, Lynn, joined the family. She has out lived them all.

She started school when she was five years old in Fairview, Idaho. She attended Junior High School and graduated from Preston High School where she excelled in academics and was involved in student government. She graduated cum laude from Utah State Agricultural College in 1939. She signed a contract to teach commercial subjects in the Gunnison Valley High School in Gunnison, Utah for $900.

She married her sweetheart, Willis Smith Hall, on October 3, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple. Willis passed away on December 21, 1996.

She spent her married life in Lewiston, Utah on a dairy farm and she also helped run a small grocery store and bulk oil plant with her husband.

She has served in many callings in the Relief Society, Primary, and Mutual Organization in the LDS Church. She and her husband served as officiators in the Logan LDS Temple for almost 2 years. She has always had a firm testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a true disciple of Him.

She enjoyed her family and supported them in many activities, especially in sports. She loved to watch the Utah Jazz games! She loved to do crossword puzzles, read, do jigsaw puzzles, and crochet afghans. Her hands were always busy. She set a wonderful example to all of her family.

She is the loving mother of five children: Karalee (Garr) Morrison, Evan (Diane) Hall, Jan (Alyson) Hall, Anthony (CeCille) Hall, and Kimber (Minnie) Hall all from Lewiston. She has 25 grandchildren and 64 Great grandchild with 4 more coming this spring.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Sunrise Park in Lewiston and the awesome workers there who so tenderly cared for our Mother for almost three years. Thanks also to Hospice workers. We love and appreciate everyone who was kind and compassionate to our Mother.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to donate to the LDS Missionary Fund or to the Perpetual Education Fund of the LDS Church.
