Michael Dean Morgan, 58, returned to his loving Heavenly Father after a valiant fight with cancer on August 25, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Born October 31, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Richard (Dick) Morgan and Ruth Alice Rowley Morgan. Mike met the love of his life Jodi Lyn Pearmain when she agreed to drive his dragster. They were married on April 7, 1984 and later sealed for Time and all Eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on August 4, 1987.
He graduated from Highland High School and would build his career in performance machining and mechanics. He worked over 20 years for Thiokol and Autoliv, and spent the last 9 years doing what he loved supervising the Student Prototype Lab for the College of Engineering at Utah State University.
Mike and Jodi started their marriage in Salt Lake City, Utah, and moved to Hyrum, Utah to raise their family. Mike dedicated his life to his family and to his Heavenly Father. He was the best husband, father, son, and brother and we will miss him everyday. He had a strong testimony for the gospel and his favorite callings were when he was serving in the Primary.
He is survived by wife, Jodi; son, Michael Richard (Joanna) of Leesburg, Indiana; daughter, Montanna (Jay Buddy) Peterson, Smithfield, Utah; and honorary daughter, Tiffany (Dan) Healey, Longview, Texas; grandchildren Evelyn Morgan Healey and Hunter Dean Morgan; mother, Ruth Morgan; brother, George Richard (Rhonda) Morgan, Jr.; sister, Angela Morgan. He is preceded in death by father, Dick Morgan and sister, Vickie Ridgeway.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, in the Hyrum LDS chapel located at 455 E 100 S, and burial will follow at the Hyrum City Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan, Utah and at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before the funeral.
