Norma B. Seamons

June 9, 1931 — November 9, 2015

Norma B. Seamons
Mom was born June 9, 1931, in Trenton, Cache, Utah, the daughter of Norman Boserup and Nellie Ransom. Mom passed peacefully away Monday evening, November 9, 2015 at the Sunshine Terrace.
They didn't live long in Trenton before their family moved to the bottom of the Providence Lane (1200 South in Logan, Utah). She grew up there herding a small herd of cows down the lane, playing with her sisters and some of the children who lived nearby. She attended schools there and graduated from South Cache High School in 1948.
Mom married her sweetheart, Russell S. Seamons on December 27, 1948. They lived for a short time in College Ward before moving to a home on Sixth West in Logan. Soon children were added to the family and in 1956, they moved to the farm in Benson, Utah. Dad loved the farm and mom supported him with helping to feed pigs and later on cows. Dad continued to work for Legrand Johnson Construction Company driving a cement truck. Those were long days for mom on the farm.
We lived on a bumpy dirt road. There was no indoor plumbing, no telephone and the school bus was
not scheduled to come out to the farm to pick us up for school. Mom worked very hard at making sure her children were given the same advantages as others. It didn't take long and we had telephone
service, the bus was coming to our home to pick us up and turning around in our driveway. Dad
worked at getting the plumbing done so we had all the advantages everyone else did.
As we got into high school, Mom decided she needed to work so that our family could have insurance as Dad had quit driving the cement truck and was running the farm. She worked at Cache Valley Dairy for many years in the packaging room packaging cheese. She later got a job washing glass for Crystal Holographics, Inc. Mom enjoyed working at both places of employment. She made
many wonderful friends. After retiring, mom was called to serve two missions in the Bishop's Storehouse in Logan, Utah. This was a wonderful experience mom enjoyed very much. It kept her busy but it was a pleasure for her to serve.
Dad passed away on January 5, 1991, leaving mom to care for herself. She is survived by her children: Ann and Robert Humpherys, Smithfield, Utah; Evelyn and Ken Scott, Benson, Utah; Dauna and Richard Humpherys, West Point, Utah; Glen and Cinda Seamons, Franklin, Idaho; Lucy and Ron Owen, Preston, Idaho; and Joe Seamons, Benson, Utah. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mom's funeral will be held Friday, November 13, at 12:00 PM in the Benson First Ward Chapel, 3432 North 3000 West in Benson. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North in North Logan, and prior to the services on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the church. She will be buried in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
A special thanks is extended to Legacy House of Logan, and Sunshine Terrace, Wings 7 and 2 for the kind and loving care that has been given to Mom and her family. We appreciate all the many people on staff at both places for the love and caring especially for mom as she had to be moved from her home to be cared for.
