Phillip Guy Toone

October 31, 1965 — February 8, 2015

A great son, husband, father, uncle, and teacher went to meet his Heavenly Father and family in Heaven, when he passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 8, 2015.
Phillip Guy Toone was beloved by all who knew this loving and fun man. Born October 31, 1965 in Reno, Nevada to Gordon and Dallas Toone, he spent his childhood and teen years in Kansas and Utah. Phil graduated from Provo High School and served a full-time mission in Des Moines, Iowa. He married Margie Robertson in the Salt Lake Temple on November 2, 1991. They raised four beautiful children and spent their married years in Layton, West Weber and Farr West, UT. He attended BYU and Utah State where he received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering & Technology Education. He enjoyed working as a finish carpenter for Ivory Homes and CTFC and later a teacher in Career and Technology Education at Fairfield Jr. High.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he fulfilled many callings faithfully such as a primary teacher, counselor in the Young Men’s group, Scoutmaster, Cub master, Sunday School Teacher, and counselor in Elders Quorum. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, watching action and science-fiction movies, making sarcastic remarks, riding his motorcycles, traveling with his family, playing guitar with his daughter and sons, and “slapping” the bass. He loved playing high school football and in later years watching his sons and nephew play. He proudly watched as his son participated in drama and theatre. He will be remembered by his woodworking that adorns his home and the homes of many others. His sons and students will never forget the craftsmanship of carpentry that he so lovingly taught them. His classic jokes and puns will never be forgotten either.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Toone, his daughter, Victoria and his three sons, Vaughn, Wyatt and Owen and his mother, Dallas Toone, sister, Kathy Downs and three brothers, Steve, Jared and Matt. He was predeceased by his father, Gordon Toone.
Funeral services will be held on at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 in the Lundstrom Park First Ward Chapel, 1260 N. 1600 E., Logan, UT (next to Lundstrom Park). A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. He will be buried next to his father in the Logan Cemetery near Utah State University.
