Ralph Johnson

October 4, 1930 — August 6, 2016

Ralph Boyd Johnson died August 6, 2016 at his home in Logan of causes incident to age. He was 85 years old.
Ralph was born in North Logan on October 4, 1930. He was the sixth child of B.W. and Eulalia Myler Johnson. He grew up on the family farm in North Logan. He was taught to work hard by his father, and he, in turn, taught his boys to work hard.
On June 30, 1949 he married Elaine Kohler. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on June 30, 1950. They were the parents of four children, Craig Ralph, Brad Wesley, Michael K., and Tamara Elaine. They raised their children in North Logan.
Ralph started his working life as a hod tender. He later built Track Master snow machines for USU. Most of his working life was spent as an acoustical carpenter for Stucki-Miller Corporation. As he neared retirement age he and Elaine moved to North Salt Lake to manage the Camelot Mobile Home Community. He and Elaine were very happy there, and surprisingly, they really took to life in the city. They returned to Logan when Elaine’s health began to deteriorate. Life was harder when Elaine went in to the nursing home. Ralph missed having her at home and visited her often. Since Elaine’s death five years ago Ralph has been waiting to join her.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elaine, five siblings, and his granddaughter Lindsay.
He is survived by his sister, Muriel, and his children: Craig (Teresa), Brad (Kris), Mike (Susan) and Tammy Johnson. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 12, 2016 at 11:00am in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center, Logan. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday morning from 9:30am till 10:30am. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
