Steven Mcbride

July 1, 1956 — August 18, 2015

Steven Dean McBride, son of Ivy Mae Jensen and Francis Dean McBride made his way to heaven August 18, 2015 surrounded by his family. He passed away after an aggressive battle with a rare form of leukemia. Steve was born July 1, 1956 and grew up in Hyrum, Utah. He graduated from Sky View High School and shortly after served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Adelaide Australia. He leaves on this earth his wonderful wife of 37 years Joanne Toller McBride, his five children and their spouses, Angie Peterson (Travis Peterson), Carolyn Kranz (Russell Kranz), Andrew Steven McBride (Shayell McBride), Brad Joseph McBride and Kylee McBride. He also leaves behind his 4 princess granddaughters Lydia Marie Peterson, Emma Gloria and Tonya Lucy Kranz, Jentry Jane McBride, as well as a special spirit he is holding until she joins us on earth in December. Steve married the love of his life, Joanne, in the Ogden LDS temple on May 4, 1978 and they enjoyed a wonderful life together. He was a member of the Nibley 1st Ward and held many callings, but his love was scouting and he was awarded the Silver Beaver for his many years of service. Steve loved building and roofing houses. He worked construction his entire life but the recent years were his favorite as he worked side by side with his sons. He couldn't go a few hours without his Mountain Dew or as he liked to call it the nectar of the gods. He spent 34 years serving as a firefighter and in the fire service, serving the communities of Cache County. He was a proud member of the Utah State Fireman’s Association serving as a trustee, president, and as the current secretary. Some of the best times found Steve sitting at a Bee’s game with his family, a foot long corn dog in his hand or sitting on the porch watching his granddaughters ride bikes, having a cook out and spending time with his family. His most recent hobby was collecting and putting together Star Wars Legos and taking naps in his chair. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Ivy Mae Jensen, brother Darwin Ray McBride, and his grandma and grandpa who he is now having a grand reunion with as well as with many other loved ones. Steve was a marvelous man and will be greatly missed but we, his family, know we will be with him again someday. Services will be held at the Nibley Stake center Saturday, August 22, at 11:00 a.m. with viewings Friday 6-8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning 9-10:30.
