Stratford Dean Simpson died peacefully Friday, September 16, 2016 at Silverado Senior Living Center in Murray, Utah. Dad was born on April 14, 1932 in Logan, Utah to Janet Dahle and Clyde Leslie Simpson. He graduated from Logan High School and then went on to Utah State University where he met his future wife, Carol Fulkerson.
After he graduated from Utah State University, He was accepted and graduated with a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery from Washington University Dental School in St. Louis, Missouri. After his graduation from Dental School, Dad served in the United States Airforce at Cannon Airforce Base in Clovis New Mexico for two years. After Dad’s military service was completed, he returned with his family to Logan and opened up his dental practice. Dad loved treating his patients which he did faithfully over the next thirty two years.
Dad was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and faithfully held callings from Sunday school teacher to high council member and bishop. Dad was a member of the Logan Golf and Country Club for over fifty years and served on the board of directors and various other committees.
Dad was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Fulkerson Simpson, parents, Clyde and Janet Dahle Simpson, His brothers, Conrad Simpson and Orville Simpson. He was also preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Jeffrey Daniel Hipple.
Dad is survived by his siblings, Thad (Margene) Simpson, Carolyn (Joel) LaPray, and his children Michael (Jodi) Simpson, Suzanne Simpson, Jann (Scott) Parker and Ned Simpson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Robert Nash from Logan Budge Clinic and all the nurses, care attendants and Dr. Fehlauer from Silverado Senior Living Center in Murray, Utah. They all made a difference in his life and ours over the last six months. The viewing will be at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street, Logan, Utah from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September ,21st. The Funeral will be held on Thursday, September 22, at noon at the Lundstrom 2nd Ward. There will be a viewing from 11:00 am until noon prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Logan cemetery. Condolences and memories may be made online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
