Vada Tucker Nielsen

July 21, 2014 — August 10, 2014

Vada Tucker Nielsen, 89 of Providence, passed away peacefully at Logan Regional Hospital on August 10, 2014, surrounded by her family. Vada was born July 21, 1925 in Fairview, Utah, to George Que and Goldie Terry Tucker.
She attended school in Fairview and Mt. Pleasant and was a graduate of North Sanpete High School. After high school she worked as a secretary for Lee Nebeker Insurance Agency in Salt Lake City. Vada married R. Lynn Nielsen in the Manti LDS Temple on July 3, 1946. They were blessed with 5 daughters and 1 son. They just celebrated their 68th Anniversary. They first established their home in Hyrum, and later built a home on their dairy farm in Nibley where they raised their family. They retired to Vada’s dream home in Providence.
Vada was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many church callings. She and her husband Lynn enjoyed serving a mission on Temple Square in Salt Lake. After their mission they served as ordinance workers in the Logan LDS Temple making many friends and memories.
She was involved in the community serving in the PTA, Lady Lions, Farm Bureau, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and several Literary Clubs. She worked at Roskelley’s store in Logan for many years.
Vada and Lynn enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states in the USA as well as traveling abroad. They took pleasure in social gatherings with their friends, participating in the Continental Dance Club, and in their later years weekly events at the Hyrum Senior Citizens Center.
Vada’s family was the joy of her life. Even with such a great legacy of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and in-laws, she possessed the most amazing ability to convey an individual and personal love. She treasured all children; many in her neighborhood also called her Grandma. She was a very talented homemaker; everyone loved her cooking and spending time in her home. She devoted her life to serving her family and was a great example to all.
She is survived by her husband R Lynn Nielsen, son Richard (Louise) Nielsen, Nibley; daughters Barbara (Robert) McKinney, Lake Tapps, WA; Polly Dunn, Ogden; Kristie (Kevin) Haslam, North Logan; Vicky (Scott) Robbins, Salt Lake; JoAnn (Scott) Naylor, Brigham; 21 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, sister LuDean Seeley, and sisters-in law Dorothy Tucker-Evans, MaeVon Wolff, Betty Hawkins, and Bonnie Nielsen.
