Our beloved father, Vern Monson, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, doing what he loved, riding his Harley.
He was born on April 5, 1949 in Millville, Utah to Oscar and Leora Monson. He attended Sky View High School and was on the wrestling team.
Vern moved to Salt Lake to attend SLCC for Diesel Mechanics. He worked for Wheeler’s for many years until his retirement.
On October 25, 1980, he married the love of his life, Sandi Dutson, They raised 6 children in West Valley City.
After his retirement, he moved back to Millville to his childhood home.
Vern was fun loving and always ready to crack a joke. He loved spending times in the mountains camping with his friends. Vern loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Geri and his wife, Sandi.
He is survived by his two sisters; Carolyn (Lynn) Bott and Denise (Lynn) Nish, his children; Clayton (Julie), Shane (Melissa), Jennifer (Steve), Ryan (Michelle), Corey (Larissa) and Tionna (Manny). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren,
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the mortuary, and prior to the services on Saturday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery.
