Wallace W. Wiser

August 2, 1923 — February 27, 2018

As we mourn the passing our father, grandfather, brother, and friend we know that mom is embracing her beloved Wally and welcoming him home. Wallace Winston Wiser passed away on February 27, 2018 at the age of 94. Wally was born the 3rd son of Myron C. Wiser and Zelma Smith Wiser on August 2, 1923 in Lewiston, Utah.
Wally grew up in Lewiston along with his 4 brothers and 1 sister where he helped on the family farm. He joined the United States Merchant Marines in 1944 during World War II. When on leave from duty he married his sweetheart, Beatrice Faye Harmer, on November 27, 1945 in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS Temple. After his military service was complete Wally an Bea made their home in Salt Lake City for a short period of time. Dad said they did not strike it rich there and longed for the country life and a farm of his own. Dad was a farmer through and through, upon returning home he worked with his dad on the family farm until he saved enough money to buy his own little place. Dad started off with a few milk cows and some farm land and continued to build his farm and dairy herd a little at a time over the years. Dad continued to farm until his health started failing then turned the work over to his son Brad and grandson Cody. He would still ride his 4-wheeler up to the barn in the evenings and sit by the barn while the milking was done. He would ride to the fields and watch the crops grow, he really missed being out there working.
Wally leaves behind his children; Lynn (Gail) Wiser of Eden Idaho; Cheryl (Terry) Smith of Preston, Idaho; and Brad (Patti) Wiser of Lewiston, Utah. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Lawrence Wiser and sister Lois Ballard; sisters-in-laws Billie Lou Wiser, Ramona Wiser, Gayle Harmer Dunn, and Brenda Harmer. He is preceded in death by his parents Myron and Zelma Wiser, a sister Edna; brothers Phillip, Lyman, and Theron; and agrandson, Justin Terry Smith.
The family wishes to thank Sunrise Park in Lewiston and the wonderful caregivers and angels that work there. Also special thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice who have given care to him over the past year.
