Barbara Ann Smith Miller

September 16, 1929 — February 14, 2018

Barbara Ann Smith Miller, 88, passed away while surrounded by her family in Logan, Utah, on February 14, 2018. Barbara, the youngest of Albert and Martha Smith’s eight children, was born on the family’s kitchen table on September 16, 1929. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1948, and worked at Hill Air Force Base and the local cannery.
Barbara met the love of her life, Ray Cherrington Miller, at a local dance, and they were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 20, 1952. While moving around in the early years of their marriage, Barbara and Ray settled down in Springville, Utah, where they raised their four children: Jeanette Miller Henry, David Ray Miller, Merilee Miller Lyons, and Shauna Miller Larsen. On December 1, 1973, Barbara, Ray, and their children were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo, Utah LDS Temple. After the death of her husband and oldest child, Barbara moved to Logan, Utah to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Barbara was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in many callings which included being a Logan Temple worker, Logan Tabernacle tour-guide, primary teacher, and others. Barbara was an avid gardener, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She loved to read, sew, cooking meals and desserts from scratch, but, most of all, spending time with her family. She was generous to a fault.
Barbara was preceded in death by: her husband, Ray Cherrington Miller; her daughter, Jeanette Miller Henry; her son, David Ray Miller, and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Belnap Miller; and her parents and eight siblings. Barbara is survived by her two daughters, Merilee Miller Lyons and Shauna Miller Larsen (Kirk) of Logan, Utah; her ten grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Rachel Miller Pinkston (Paul), Sheiree Miller, J.J. Miller (Kristen), L. Adam Larsen, Riley Miller, Alisa Larsen, Jared Larsen, McKay Larsen, and Erika Larsen; and three great-grandchildren.
