Belva Graves Swainston

May 11, 1933 — June 6, 2018

After bidding farewell to each of her dear family, Belva passed away peacefully just 2 weeks after discovering she had cancer. Born to Ira N & Constance Graves May 11, 1933; she was raised in beautiful Kelowna, BC. After her baptism in the LDS Church, she headed for Vancouver and Nursing School at St Paul’s. Upon graduation, she worked in the operating room at Ut Valley Hospital. Belva married David W Swainston in the SL Temple Sept 1, 1955. Following an Air Force stint in Rome NY they moved to Sunnyvale, CA where they raised their 5 stalwart children, Tana and Jim Evans, Russ and Lynette Swainston, Craig and Lesa Swainston, Kyle and Julie Swainston, Caralyn and Rick Keel. They dearly loved their 17 G-children & 12 G-grandchildren. They totally enjoyed their world travels. Belva helped charities, PTA & got the Cub Scouts going. She raised 3 Eagles and 3 missionaries. After her kids were raised, she often worked for doctors.
After retiring 33 years later, they moved to Providence where she continued to love her flower gardens, sewing, reading, travels & just serving. They served together in the Toronto West Mission, and many years in the Logan Temple. Known for her strong faith & integrity, Belva served faithfully in many callings. Belva loved life & those around her.
