Betty Jean Hansen

Betty Jean Hansen, age 88, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 in Logan, UT. Betty was born February 18, 1930 to Jacob Peter and Julia Georgina Johanson Hansen in American Falls, ID. She was the youngest of nine children, and the only daughter. When Betty was about five years old she moved with her parents from the family farm near Holbrook, ID to Logan, where she has lived ever since.
Betty graduated from Logan High in 1948, then earned a BS in elementary education from Utah State University.
One of Betty’s hallmarks was her ready smile. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, all kinds of handwork, and visits to her brothers and their families. We are indebted to her and her trusty camera for many choice family photos. Besides working at Zion’s Bank for 24 years she also kept busy with gardening, caring for pets, and spending time with nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She in no doubt enjoying a reunion with her parents and all her brothers. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Laura, many nieces and nephews, and her good friend, Luanne Walquist.
Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary, and will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan, beginning at 12:00 pm, with a viewing prior from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Interment will be at the Bear River City Cemetery, beside her parents.
