Deon Buist Larsen Hall

July 1, 1942 — April 23, 2017

Deon Buist Larsen Hall passed away peacefully on a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning, April 23, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 74 years old.
Deon was born in Logan, Utah, on July 1, 1942, to Leland Larsen and Viola Buist Larsen. She was the third of six children.
Deon graduated from South Cache High School and Hollywood Beauty College.
Deon met Dallas Brenchley Hall through good, mutual friends and married him May 18, 1962, in the Logan LDS Temple. They have shared 55 wonderful years of life and family. Deon and Dallas are lifelong residents of Wellsville and raised all their children there.
Dallas and Deon were blessed with two sons and two daughters: Brett and Kristi Hall of Mink Creek, Idaho; Shelley and Doug Keller of Preston, Idaho; Shawn and Lori Hall of Wellsville; and Kamee and Robert Summers of Wellsville.
Deon is the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, Kelsie, Bridger (Cassie), Tyson, Tawni (Tayson), McCoy (serving in the Washington, Vancouver Mission), Garrett, Kayci, Madi and Kohler. They were the joy and light of her life, and she made each one of them feel as if they were her favorite. Deon's happiest moments were with her beautiful children and grandchildren.
Deon was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Nita Christensen, one brother-in-law, Owen Christensen, and one sister-in-law, Sandi Larsen.
Deon is survived by two sisters, Lorene (Steven) Leishman of Logan, and Sharon (Dennis) Simper of Wellsville, and two brothers, Val Dean (the late Sandi) Larsen of Mendon, and Gary (Nancy) Larsen of Wellsville, and an uncle, LaVern Buist, of Colusa, California, and Wellsville.
Deon was such an incredible woman. She could do anything and everything! She loved to play outside in the sunshine and fill her nails with dirt. She loved to quilt and sew for all of her children and grandchildren. Her yard, her handwork, and her family are beautiful works of Deon's art and loving care. She loved family traditions - Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, birthdays, the list could go on and on. Deon could host the most fun parties with the best food and make each person feel welcome, loved, and the favorite guest. She based her life on service and blessed all around her with her thoughtfulness and kindness. Deon was selfless and dedicated her time and life to assisting those in need, friends, family, strangers. Deon made friends easily with everyone through her caring and gracious personality.
Deon was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers (Daniel H. Wells Camp), and The Busy Bees, a small sewing group with dear friends.
Deon was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings throughout her life. One of her favorite callings was with her little Sunbeams. She was a member of the Wellsville 8th Ward at the time of her passing.
Funeral services for Deon will be held at noon Friday, April 28, at the Wellsville 8th Ward building, 200 S. Center St., Wellsville. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, at Allen-Hall Mortuary on Center Street in Logan, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Wellsville 8th Ward building.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Eifling, her heart doctor, and his medical team, and also the many nurses and aides that rendered such tender and compassionate care for our mother. Most importantly, our love and deep appreciation of Deon's many dear friends and neighbors who shared so many kind acts of love and service.
