Dora Margaret Price Larsen

November 26, 1919 — January 17, 2018

Dora Margaret Price Larsen, our 98 year young angel mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, was called back to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Legacy House of Logan. She was born November 26, 1919 to Joseph Stanners Price and Elizabeth Susanna Reese Price in the family home at Bloomington, Idaho. She met a handsome soft drink salesman, Roy James Larsen, while she was working in her father’s store/post office in Paris Idaho. They fell deeply in love and were married on September 11, 1940 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Roy died on April 25, 2003 and Dora has missed him every day for nearly 15 years.
Dora and Roy were blessed with seven children, six of whom came in the first 9 years of marriage testing her motherly mettle. Nine years later the seventh joined the family. All seven survive her. They are: Roy Gary Larsen (Kathryn) of Phoenix, AZ, James Craig Larsen (Nancy) of South Jordan, UT, Joseph Steven Larsen (DeLois), Garden City, UT, Jennifer Baird McCracken (Larry) Provo, UT, Suzanne Buttars (Monte) Kennewick, WA, Paul Kay Larsen (Kandi), Logan, UT, Douglas Price Larsen (Lisa), Orem, UT. Also surviving is one sister, Roene McKinnon, 47 grandchildren, 123 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She spent the bulk of her energy in life raising her children and managing a busy household. She also found time to assist Dad in running first his Pepsi-Cola production and distribution company in Northern and Eastern Utah, as well as Southern Idaho, until 1974, and then in what became a chain of Hallmark Card and Gift Shops in Utah, Arizona, and California.
Dora was a woman of faith. She cherished her testimony of the gospel of Christ and her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was called on to serve in a number of capacities including, temple worker, Primary Chorister, Primary Stake Board, Laurel Advisor, Counselor in the Relief Society Presidency, teacher, visiting teacher, and other assignments. Roy and Dora fulfilled two lifetime goals by graduating from LDS Institute later in life and by serving as full-time missionaries on Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
She was interested in the world around her and watched public affairs closely. She enjoyed serving as an election judge for many years. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and was proud of her rich pioneer heritage. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her book clubs and scripture study groups.
Preceding Dora in death were her husband Roy, her parents, sisters: Violet Passey, Pearl Patterson, Gwen Anderson, Mabel Walker, Osma Humphreys, and brothers: Ivor Price, Robert Price, and Jay Price, a granddaughter Natalie Larsen, a great-grandson Zachary Wood, a son-in-law Theron Baird, and daughters-in-law: Elizabeth Cragun Larsen, Gail McKinney Larsen and Letitia Barrett ?
