Elaine Mair Hadfield

August 5, 1920 — June 25, 2017

Elaine Mair Hadfield - August 5, 1920 - June 25, 2017.

Hello and so long for a short time to my dear family and friends. As of today, I have spent 96 years and 10 months on this beautiful earth the Lord created for us.

I have enjoyed living here. I love beautiful flowers (especially roses), green grass, blue sky, but I am now on my way to a more beautiful place. I am the third daughter born to William Joseph Franklin Mair and Solome Beutler. One more daughter arrived four years later.

I graduated from Logan High School with the class of 1938, and a few years later became a telephone operator.

I married my beloved husband, Norman E. Hadfield, October 8, 1945, in the Salt Lake City, LDS Temple. Four children came to live with us: Norman Dee, Scott William, Chris Mair, and Judy Lee. I also have 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren who have brought us much happiness.

I love the gospel, I know it is true, and have enjoyed my callings in every organization in our dear ward. However, I especially loved being a Relief Society President at the Valley Nursing Home (currently Rocky Mountain Care). There was so much love there.

I am survived by a son, Norman Dee (Diane) Hadfield; a daughter, Judy Lee (Randy) Sorenson; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hadfield (Courtney) Obray.

I am preceded in death by my parents; my sisters, Evelyn Baird, Dorothy Fredrickson, and Barbara Cook; my sons, Scott and Chris Hadfield; and my husband--who will all meet me at my next step.

I am shedding tears at leaving all of you, but we will meet again. I will be so happy to see you. I love you all--Mother.

The family would like to thank Integrity Hospice for their kindness and love in caring for our mother and grandmother. A heartfelt thanks to her nurse, Robert Chandler.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation: 500 Huntsman Way, SLC, UT, 84108 or donate.huntsmancancer.org.

Funeral services are under the direction of Allen Hall Mortuary. Services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the 29th LDS Ward Chapel - 792 N. 500 E. Logan UT. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral between 10:00-11:30 AM.
