Evelyn Erickson Gubler

November 15, 1928 — May 23, 2018

Evelyn Erickson Gubler returned home to loved ones, May 23, 2018 at 89 years of age. She was born Nov. 15th, 1928 in Smithfield, Utah to William and Rachel Noble Erickson, along with her twin sister Ethelyn. She loved growing up on their family farm north of Smithfield at the base of Crow Mountain. There she learned the value of hard work as she labored with her sisters and brothers in the fields and with the dairy. She was always proud of her brothers and sisters and how they got along so well with each other. She loved Crow Mountain and the many cherished memories there with family and friends.

She married Jay Henry Gubler on November 10th, 1948 in the Logan Temple. She loved serving in the Church and among other callings served as Relief Society President, Primary President, and in the Young Woman’s Presidency. In her later years, she and her husband Jay, spent 7 years as missionaries at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. She loved being associated with the Utah Daughters of Pioneers and was a member for 35 years, holding every position.

Most important to her were her 6 children, 25 grand children, 64 great grand children, and 1 great great grand child. She loved and served them. She always felt they were her greatest accomplishments.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters Bernice Erickson, Roma Anderson, Ruth Jones, Ethelyn Hodges and brother Roy Erickson. She is survived by her husband Jay Gubler, Enterprise, Ut, her sister Elaine Coleman, Smithfield, Ut, brothers, Noble Erickson, Smithfield, Ut, Vincent Erickson, Hyde Park, Ut, Terry Erickson, Fair Oaks, Ca, and her Children Jaydene Dazey, Duvall Wa, Bill and Debbie Gubler, Riverton, Ut, Jana and Spencer Moody, Enterprise, Ut, Kathy and Dino Myers, Marysville, Wa, Kaylene and Ron Hendrickson, Hermiston, Or, and Bruce and Connie Gubler, So. Ogden, Ut.

Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Services will be held at 179 N. 100 E in Smithfield, on Wednesday, May 30th with a viewing from 10:00 - 11:45 and the funeral at 12:00. She will be laid to rest in the Smithfield Cemetery.
