Gene Whitt Reese

Gene Whitt Reese passed away at the Gables House October 18, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born April 9, 1926 to Fame Gyllenskog and Roy Patton Whitt. She had three sisters, Barbara, Alta and Betty. She graduated from North Cache High School and then attended Utah State University where was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.
She married Parley Lynn Reese May 19, 1945. They had three children, Lynn (Larry) Roundy, Chris (Carl) Peterson, Tracy W. (Jan Hadfield) Reese. Gene has eleven grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Federated Women’s Club, and served on the Women’s Legislative Council and also on the board of the Cache County Library. She was a member of the Smithfield Civic Club for over fifty years. She served in all organizations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of the Logan Golf and Country Club where she successfully achieved a hole in one!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn, her parents, three sisters, granddaughter-in-law, Cortney Reese, and grandson-in-law, Scott McPhearson.
We want to thank all the people who cared for her these last few months. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11:30 AM at the Logan City Cemetery, and are the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
