Glenn Grant Hiibner

Glenn Grant Hiibner of Mendon, Utah passed away March 6, 2018, three days short of his 97th birthday in Ogden, Utah. He was born to George and Retta (Copen) Hiibner in Mendon on March 9, 1921. Glenn was raised in a family of 9 children where he worked hard on the family farm.
He attended schools in Cache County. He enlisted and proudly served in the US Army in 1943. He served in the 13th Armored Division under George S. Patton in Europe during WWII.
He married Ivaloo Smith on October 8, 1947. They lived most of their married life in Mendon where they raised 3 children, Jeff, Scott and Karen.
Glen worked in construction as a masonry tender and worked on various ranches and farms while working his own farm. He farmed until age 80 and continued growing a large garden and caring for his yard until age 95. He was always an example of hard work and physical strength.
Glenn was active in the LDS church in various callings. He especially liked donating his time and service on the church farm.
Glenn is survived by two children, Jeff (Nita) Hiibner and Karen (Bob) DeGasser, Sister-in-laws, Connie Smith and Sheila Smith, ten grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ivaloo, son Scott, grandson Matthew Scott and 8 siblings, Odie, Frona, Luetta, Wayne, Vira, Okey, Calvin and Dorothy.
Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary and will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 13th at the Mendon Stake Center, 460 S. 100 E., Mendon, UT. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm, Monday, March 12th at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, UT and Tuesday, March 13th from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Mendon Stake Center. Interment will be at the Mendon City Cemetery following the service.
