Logan, Utah – Gretta Gibbs Hansen, age 85, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 28, 2017. She was born March 25, 1932, in Paradise Utah, to Niel Lindley Gibbs and LaVella Summers Gibbs.
Gretta grew up in Paradise, with her father, mother and brothers. She married Lawrence Andrew Hansen on August 24, 1949. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Lawrence and Gretta shared 58 years together, raising their family in Hyrum, Utah. She was a devoted mother and homemaker and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in various callings including teaching, working with young women, and baptistery work at the Logan Temple. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her eighteen grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren.
Gretta is survived by her six children--son Mike Marshall (Terre), daughter Nancy Hansen, son Cordell Hansen (Vickie), son Larry Hansen (Laurie), son Jeff Hansen (Pamela), and son Ronald Hansen; brother Clark Gibbs; and in-laws Lyman Hansen and Hazel Hansen.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Lamar, Ray, and Grant; grandchildren Jeremy Hansen and Justin Hansen; great-grandchildren Skyler Petersen and Forrest Petersen; and great-great-grandchild Jaxon Kanada.
The family extends a special thank you to Sunshine Terrace, Sunshine Terrace Hospice, and the wonderful staff of wing one.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be from 10-11:30 a.m., Thursday, November 2 at Allen-Hall Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at noon. Interment will be at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
