James Henry Halling

LOGAN- James Henry Halling, 64, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. Jim was the 2nd child of 10 and the first son, of Clair and Etta Halling. Born May 17, 1953. As a child he was called Jimmy and often said he wished the nickname had stuck into adulthood.
Jim married his love Nancy Jeanette Caudillo, December 3, 1977, in the Ogden Utah temple. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary earlier this month. He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1971. He served in the Missouri, Independence, LDS mission.
Jim worked as a skilled welder during his lifetime and spent his spare time on various and numerous projects; including a large, beautiful, garden and working on his tractors. Dad was our mechanic, plumber and real life master builder. A man with many projects and talents.
He was a peaceful presence, a good listener and had wise advice and counsel. He was observant and quietly served those around him every day. Jim lived in the Logan 2nd Ward for many years. He served in many capacities, including bishop and was an extraordinary example of kindness and love.
Jim is survived by; his mother Etta Halling of Mantua, UT, wife and sweetheart Nancy Halling of Logan, UT, his 4 children: Micah (Jennifer) Halling of West Valley, UT, Isaac (Sheena) Halling of Boise, ID, Aaron Halling of Logan, UT, and Marie (Jake) Oakden of Mountain Home, ID, 9 grandchildren, 1 brother and 7 sisters. He is preceded in death by; his father Clair Halling and his sister Judy Halling of Mantua, UT.
We will miss you dad. We will miss your stories, your breakfasts, and your Christmas poinsettias. We will miss the way you listened and loved. We will miss your projects and seeing you play with the grandkids. We will miss you leading us in family prayers. Your example of Christ like love and service has left a lasting impression on all who knew you. You will be in our hearts, thoughts and memories ‘till we meet again. We love you.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 23rd, at 12:00 p.m., at the Logan 2nd ward building, 89 south 200 west, Logan, Utah, where a visitation will be held prior from 10:30-11:30 a.m. There will also be a visitation held at 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, December 22nd at the Logan 2nd ward building. Interment in Mantua City Cemetery.
Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday.
