James Louis Kirschbaum

July 5, 1926 — July 7, 2022

James Louis Kirschbaum, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2022. He is now reunited with his sweetheart Beverly. We were blessed to celebrate his 96th birthday on July 5th.

At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1943 to 1946 in the South Pacific. Upon returning Jim and his wife Bev were introduced by a mutual friend and were married for 74 years. One of the highlights of his life was participating in the Freedom Flight and traveling to Washington D.C. and visiting the WWII Memorial with other Veterans. He loved this country and was proud of his service in WWII. Jim began a long career in the insurance industry and was employed by Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and Wellington Insurance Company in Toronto, Canada.

He was a gifted speaker, teacher and lecturer. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Service included Cub Scouting Master, Sunday School President, Priesthood Advisor, High Councilman, Ward and Stake Executive Secretary, Nursery Leader, Bishop, Stake President and Veterans Club Chaplain. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved the Lord.

Jim lived life to the fullest. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching the San Francisco Giants. JIm loved spending time with his family, telling jokes and stories, spending time at their cabin in Bear Lake, traveling the world, hosting and organizing parties, attending his grandkids and great grandkids sporting events and puttering around the house. Jim touched the lives of everyone he met. He cared deeply for the relationships he forged in family, friends and colleagues. He inspired so many and was always the energy and life behind every gathering. We will remember him always as the loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, brother and friend. The legacy he leaves behind is love of family, treasure friendships and selfless service.

Jim is survived by daughters Caroll Hobbs (Randy), Jeannie Larson (Dave), sons Larry (Kinni), John (Mary), Scott (Trudy), 18 Grandchildren, 38 Great- Grandchildren and 1 Great- Great Grandchild. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverly, his sister Peggy Sullivan (Joe) and his parents John and Sadie.

Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary, and will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 Center Street, Logan Utah. A viewing at the same location will be held from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Interment will be in the Mendon Cemetery, Mendon, Utah.
