James Bailey Wyatt

James Bailey Wyatt passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018, at home, surrounded by family. He was born on July 26, 1934, to James Rowell Leavitt Wyatt and Janette Bradshaw Bailey Wyatt at the family home in Wellsville, Utah. James attended schools in Wellsville and graduated from South Cache High School. He joined the U.S. Navy, spending four years on active duty during the Korean Conflict and 4 years on reserve. Later, he spent eight years in the Coast Guard reserve. He worked many jobs during his life but retired from Hill Field Air Force Base as a supervisory technical manuals editor for the US Air Force. After retirement, he worked at Utah State University while he and his wife, Joyce Erickson Wyatt, traveled to navy reunions and visiting children.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and lived in the River Heights Frist Ward for 49 years. He had been ward librarian, ward clerk, primary and Sunday school teacher and boy scout coordinator. He is survived by one sister, Gloria (Robert) Kolts, eight children, Martha (Steve) Vannote of Lemoore, CA, Mark Wyatt of Pocatello, ID, Brynne Wyatt of River Heights, UT, Brett Humphreys of Smithfield, UT, James E. (Tina) Wyatt of Preston, ID, Jason B (Janie) Wyatt of Taylorsville, UT, Jill (Scott) Williams of Minden, NV and Angela Wyatt Martinez of River Heights, 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Spence (Alice) Wyatt, three sisters Jane (Mervin) Salvesen, Betsy (Jay) Long and Janette (Hal) Rasmussen, his wife of 56 years, Joyce Erickson Wyatt, and one daughter, Mary Jane Wyatt.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the River Heights Stake Center, 800 S 600 E, River Heights, UT, at 1pm. Viewings will be Friday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 E Center St. Logan, UT from 6 to 8pm and Saturday from 11am to 12:30pm at the church. Interment will be in the Wellsville Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Sliesoraitis, Dr. Otrusinik, Dr. Keyser, their staffs, the wonderful nurses and aids at the Budge Clinic Infusion Center, Signature Healthcare at Home, Rocky Mountain Hospice, and all the wonderful family and friends for their support.
