Jeanne B. Pettigrew

November 9, 1927 — December 3, 2017

Logan, Utah--- Our wonderful, elegant mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 90 from natural causes on Dec. 3, 2017.
Mom was born in Logan to Samuel and Gladys Brown on Nov. 9, 1927. She grew up in Logan where she graduated from Logan High School and she completed computer courses at Bridgerland Technical College. She met Karl E. Pettigrew while he was attending USU in 1950 and they married in 1952. Together they raised three children. After raising her children she worked at Montgomery Wards and later for Logan City in the billing dept., where she retired. She loved working for the City interacting with all the different people she met.
Mom was an elegant, beautiful, sharp witted and outgoing lady. Everyone who knew her loved her and would always tell us so. One friend said that she was one lady that could get away with cussing and still be elegant. Her mother said she was born cussing. Mom was one of a kind.
She loved her house and her yard. She loved tending to her roses and the flowerbeds. In the summer you could find her in her vegetable garden picking green beans. She always worked hard no matter what it was. Still doing housework until the day she left her home. Her house, her yard and her car were always meticulous.
Mom was very generous she donated to many charities and was always willing to help someone in need.
She will be missed so much, she was the matriarch of our family. She is one of the last of the Greatest Generation.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Karl of 65 years who passed away in August, her daughter Kristy Pettigrew Mathews, her brother Robert Brown, her sister Julie Johns and her 1st husband Spencer Albiston.
Sons, Richard (Karen) Albiston, Karl (Darla) Pettigrew and niece, Carol (Fred) Pace, survive her. She has 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
We would like to thank Dr. Welter, Dr. Sliesorait and his staff, the staff at Maple Springs and Integrity Hospice care.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the Logan City Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
