Kristie Lindley Lawton passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from complications related to her battle with cancer. Kristie was born September 9, 1951 to William (Bill) and Colene Cooper Lindley. She was raised on the family farm in Amalga, Utah, where she learned the value of family and hard work and loved spending time with her dad on the tractor.
After graduating from Sky View High School she went on to Weber State where she earned a degree in Radiology. Kristie's career was in the healthcare field. As a board certified radiation technologist
she treated cancer patients for many years at St. Benedict's (now Ogden Regional) Hospital. Kristie was loved by all of the patients she had an opportunity to serve. Her warm smile, sincere concern, and no nonsense approach is remembered by many.
In 1974 she meet her sweetheart, Dan Lawton, they were married on August 9, 1974 and began their journey together. They raised three children who were the apple of Kristie’s eye. She loved her family unconditionally and was fiercely loyal! She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Kristie was in the know. She magically kept up on all of her extended family. Even if you did not see her for awhile, when you did, she knew just what you had been up to even when you lived across the United
States! She loved genealogy and spent hundreds of hours documenting and connecting her family. This is one of the many ways she showed her love. She was talented and created beautiful needlework that was shared with family and friends.
Kristie thoughtfulness towards others was often felt. Second only to family, Kristie loved her dogs; they traveled with her and were always by her side.
She is survived by her mother, Colene Lindley, of Logan, Utah; her husband, Dan, of Roy, Utah; son, Shelby (Ashlie) of Ashburn, Virginia and their son, Braxton; stepson Michael (Lori) of Pennsylvania, and their children, Alex and Travis; stepdaughter Leslie Caldwell; sister, Kathy (Ed) Rigby of Wellsville; and large extended family aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins on both the Lindley and Cooper sides of the family.
