PARADISE - LaVeigh Christine Thomas Atwood, age 82 of Paradise, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
LaVeigh was born on March 23, 1934 in San Francisco, California to Thomas Christ Thomas and Caroline LaVeigh Savage. She received her education at the Elko, County High School in Elko, Nevada.
She later married Lial B. Atwood on October 18, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and were later blessed with four sons and two daughters.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many callings in her life that included Relief Society, Primary, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and in Family History. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for over 60 years.
She is survived by her husband Lial B. Atwood and her children Linda (Raymond) Price of Mesa, Arizona, Lial (Judith) Atwood of West Valley, Leroy (Cheryl) Atwood of Paradise, Lance (Deon) Atwood of Paradise, Lawrence (Carleen) Atwood of Paradise, LaRee (Michael) Tyler of Stansbury Park. She is also survived by her sister Patricia (Delbert, deceased) Paul of Elko, NV and 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 4th at the Paradise 4th Ward Chapel, 155 E. 9400 S. in Paradise. A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday evening at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan and from 10:30-11:30 am at the church prior to services on Saturday.
