Linda Diane Eliason Gerstner

March 1, 1942 — March 17, 2022

Linda Diane Eliason Gerstner, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2022 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease, with her daughters by her side. She was born on March 1,1942 to LuRae James and Pearl Blumel Smith Eliason and was raised in Salt Lake City with her two brothers, Richard and Ronald.

She was married to the love of her life, Gerald Wayne Gerstner, on November 23, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 26, 2002. Together, they had four daughters, Jerilyn, Jill, Kelley, and Kristie. They moved to beautiful Cache Valley where they lived in Logan and Wellsville but eventually moved to Paradise to fulfill Jerry’s dream of having a farm. She had a lifelong love of nature and instilled that in her kids and grandkids. They enjoyed raising horses, camping and snowmobiling trips to Yellowstone.

After the death of Jerry in 1977, she remarried and moved to Smithfield, though they later divorced. From that marriage, she had two sons, Joshua and Jonathan. She also had the honor of being a stepmom to Raquel and Dustin. As a single mom, her work ethic was unmatched. She fought hard to provide a good and decent life for her children with limited resources. This work ethic and dedication was something her entire family would draw inspiration from raising their own families while facing their own life challenges moving forward. She was truly an inspiration to all those that were closest to her.

Linda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings and continually studied to increase her knowledge of the Gospel. Linda loved to read, crochet, sew and garden. Her garden and flower beds were the envy of many and the source of many memories for her kids and grandkids alike. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and could often be heard armchair coaching them.

She is survived by her six children, Jerilyn (Mark) Frimell of Grandbury, TX Jill Gerstner of Logan; Kelley (Cory) Hubbard of North Logan; Kristie (Jason) Larsen of North Logan; Joshua (Loni) Ford of Oroville, CA.; and Jonathan (Ashley) Ford of Morton Grove, IL. Two step-children, Raquel (Danny) Harp of Oroville, CA; Dustin (Christina) Ford of Oroville, CA. Eighteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren with one on the way, and one great-great grandchild.
Also surviving is her brother Ronald Eliason of Provo Ut. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents, step-mother Nina, brother Richard, grandson Tyler Olsen and son-in-law Lee Brown,

The family would like to thank Karmon Reese and the many staff members at Terrace Grove Assisted Living that loved and cared for Mom over the last four years. We would also like to thank Dr. Trevor Squire of McKay-Dee Neurology and his staff in caring for and helping mom navigate Parkinson's Disease and CNS Hospice for their care and kindness shown to mom for the last six months.
